Morocco and the 3rd carrier April 10, 2007

As soon as I took some responsability within Southern Europe, I aimed to convince my staff to deal with Maroc Telecom…maybe with Medi Telecom. It has been easy to do and now the deal is on the pipe…
But I was very surprised to receive this news: Wana is a 3rd operator in Morocco under Bayn brand since February’07. 100K customers after 3 days! This success is mainly due to the small price of communications.
The very strange thing is that they use CDMA and not UMTS like the 2 others? They wanna be sure that it would be not possible to use the handset with another SIM card from Maroc Telecom or Meditel!!!
This technology will be used also as ISP (PCMCIA for laptop).
Wana is owned by ONA (main shareholder is Kingdom of Morocco).
So now I must sell games with Brew?!
