The answer came from Philippe Bossut: “Because at the time the movie was made, the most influential expert on UFO was Jacques Vallée, a French scientist living in the US. Also, Spielberg was a fan of Truffaut’s approach to movies”.

I just tried peoplebrowsr. Well not so fluid to use, but I like the “river stream” concept like in FriendFeed… and no application to download, on my point of view easier to manage your social network on a browser.
But it doesn’t ring when someone communicates with me on Twitter 
And windows are really hard to parameter, no configuration saved.
Well still some work guys!
